I took this picture on a wonderfully beautiful day last week. One thing I love about taking the Transbay bus from Berkeley to San Francisco is that I get great views of San Francisco's excellent skyline, exquisitely symbolized by the Transamerica Pyramic. What a fantastic building.

I saw this posted on a blog recently and thought it was quite clever:

Next week I return home for the first time since moving to California. I have a wedding to attend in Delaware. Unfortunately, I'm going to miss two events that San Francisco is famous for: LoveFest and the Folsom Street Fair. I was telling someone I'd have to fly back to the area next year (assuming I've left it) for the events, and he said, "Don't tell anyone you're coming back specifically for the Folsom Street Fair." Heh.
Just a warning, if you purchase garlic fries at AT&T Park (where the San Francisco Giants play), make sure that you split the order. Or at least don't eat the chunks of garlic remaining after you've finished the fries. I ate an order by myself yesterday and I'm really paying for it now. Who knew that you could get a garlic headache?

Well, it took almost four weeks of living in the Bay Area but finally, on Sunday, I was close enough to take a picture of, surprise...
I love how digital cameras make sunsets so much more vivid than they appear in life. I took this picture while attending the Treasure Island Music Festival, which was quite excellent, though long.

Hmmm, what to believe? Last week at Walgreens I saw this magazine display:
(Full disclosure: I moved two of the magazines from a different rack to the top one so that all the Britney magazines would be in a row.) Britney on the cover of five magazines! Now this from TMZ.com.
Everyone who saw Britney's VMA performance last night will agree that it wasn't her shining moment. And perhaps the fact that she is on the cover of so many magazines, with only Allure being a non-gossipy cover, isn't a good thing. Britney Spears and Hilary Duff (lower on the magazine rack) used to be two of favorite personalities to follow. And with Hilary being a brunette and all emaciated (though better as of recent), both are disappointing me. Who's the next star for me to follow?

I was reading old issues of Rolling Stone and I came upon this quote by Marilyn Manson:
It's not like I wear makeup to look like a mime, or a clown, or Gene Simmons -- all of which are essentially the same to me. I wear makeup like a girl wears makeup -- I always wear makeup. I even have the no-makeup makeup look, which is a trick that college girls will use on you. They'll say, "I'm not wearing makeup," but don't think they're not wearing makeup. They may be wearing vagina liner.
Haha. Vagina liner? That's easily the most ridiculous thing I've ever read.
