Bread Crumbs | Risqué Advertising Here are some examples of advertising that is a bit risqué: View All Ads (2) Creepy Voyeurism: This hilarious, yet scary, advertisement sells Trident White gum with the catch phrase, "A whiter smile gets you noticed. Even if you don't want to be." A peeping tom, spying on a young woman disrobing, is presumably spotted by his shining white teeth (courtesy of Trident). The ad is clever but nearly crosses the line of good taste. This ad was in the 6/24/2004 issue of Rolling Stone. Pointless Sexuality: This advertisement for Virgin Atlantic features sexy cartoonish art similar to what is seen in airplane safety guides. Apparently the airline offers a free "Sleep Suit" for its New York to London flight. The text plays off the drawing of a (surprisingly, for art) attractive woman disrobing: "Supermodels: while it may be natural to completely disrobe in front of strangers on a photo shoot, some passengers may object to seeing you naked. Then again, maybe not." This ad was in the 10/18/2004 issue of Newsweek and was hard to miss, as it was printed on extra heavy paper. |
